In this book, eight
people who knew Ramana Maharshi tell in their own words how their lives
were transformed by him. David Godman compiled the accounts by searching
through piles of old documents, some previously unpublished, others translated
into English for the first time here. His sensitive editing allows the distinctive
voice of each person to come through. The book includes testimony by Rangan,
Sivaprakasam Pillai, Akhilandamma, Sadhu Natanananda, N.R. Krishnamurti
Aiyer, Chalam and Souris, and Swami Madhavatirtha.

This is the second volume
in the series. Like the first, it contains autobiographical accounts by
people whose lives were influenced by Ramana Maharshi. For more information
about the format, see our description of Part
One. Among the book's many fascinating episodes is Lakshmana Swamy's
account of his Self-realization, which appeared in a slightly different
form in Godman's book No
Mind — I Am The Self, which is now unfortunately out of print.
This volume includes testimony by Kunju Swami, Muruganar (C.K. Subramania
Iyer), T.P. Ramachandra Iyer, Chhanganlal V. Yogi, Lakshmana Swamy, and
Viswanatha Swami.
