Sri
Ramana, the Self Supreme
By K. Swaminathan

The author of this collection
of essays was one of Ramana Maharshi's most erudite and intellectually sophisticated
devotees, a college professor who served as chief editor of the hundred-volume
Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi. In 1940 he took his first darshan
of Ramana Maharshi and became a devotee. In these essays, the author explains
why he regards Sri Ramana as a spiritual giant, relating him to the whole
Indian religious tradition. The essays make use of both the author's scholarly
knowledge (there are many learned allusions) and his personal experience
(he never loses sight of the true import of the Maharshi's teachings). | | |
